Welcome to Church in the Barn

Church in the Barn is a Bible-believing independent church.  Our congregation is about 80-strong, not including youth. We have run a big youth work for many years and as there is no pressure on the young people to come to church (although many have) there is always a large community of youth attached to the church at any one time. 

Children are encouraged to join in the Sunday School activities and learn from the Bible in a creative manner. We have "all-age" worship together one Sunday morning a month. Each Sunday many of us enjoy a "bring & share" lunch together after church.  All are welcome.

Our youth contingent play an active part in the church and meet on Fridays for the youth club and street/trailer ministry. Through the week we have various House Group/Bible Study options..

We have a part-time pastor and lots of volunteers to make church happen! Elders, deacons, support team, children's workers, youth leaders, worship team and welcome team.

We have links with other churches in Penrith, being part of the Churches together in Penrith group, running evangelistic events, Christmas and lent activities and generally supporting each other. Our services are relaxed and informal, we take communion together most Sunday mornings.

Services usually start with a time of worship, which tends towards the modern, but does not exclude the old! Our services usually last about 1.5 hours and may include communion, testimonies, a message, worship and ministry. We do not believe that ministry is exclusive to the leadership team, encouraging the whole church to exercise spiritual gifts under their supervision and discernment.
